We had great pleasure in 2006 to be invited to supply several classic American cars to feature in the Firetrap Organisation's new Spring/Summer Collection promotional video.

Here are a few shots taken from the rehearsal filming during the day, featuring both male and female models.  Many famous celebrities, fashion magazine editors and special guests attended the launch in the evening, who had been invited from around the world.

California Dreamin' Classic Cars would like to take this opportunity to thank the Firetrap Organisation and Andy Cobb of Sculptivate their agent, for inviting us to supply the vehicles provided.

We would also like to thank Sarah How of Chiswick Camera Centre, for providing most of the photographs shown, and permission to use them.

An invitation was received to provide a "menacing-looking" black car to be featured as part of the second series of the television programme "Make Me a Supermodel" which was to find a new male and female model, and transmitted by Channel 5. California Dreamin' Classic Cars were able to furnish a beautiful 1959 Cadillac Elderado for use by the film crew.

Below are pictures that were captured during the filming of the programme. Parts of the recording was a "closed set", and there were not as many opportunities for pictures. Rachael Hunter (ex. Mrs Rod Stewart) was there to give support to everyone, and it was really nice to meet and speak with her.

Storyline:  "Beautiful Carmen Colson (Diane Lane) and her ironworker husband
Wayne (Thomas Jane) are placed in the Federal Witness Protection program after witnessing an extortion scheme go wrong. Thinking they are at last safe, they are targeted by an experienced intimidating hit man (Mickey Rourke) working for the Italian Mafia and a psychopathic young upstart killer (Joe Gordon Levitt). The ensuing struggle will test Carmen to the limit."

California Dreamin' Classic Cars were pleased to be invited to provide three cars to record special engine sounds and other effects, as part of a sequence in the film's soundtrack, being added at Pinewood Studios in England. The film is due for general release in the Spring of 2008, following completion in Canada.

Ian (on the right) and his Guys!

We would very much like to thank Ian Wilson* and his team for this opportunity. It was a great fun day, the weather was beautifully sunny, the highways were clear for the fast get-away sequences and sounds, and total enjoyment was had by all!

Our thanks also go to all the drivers, with their excellent, safe driving skills, which allowed the right sounds from their vehicles to be produced and recorded.

*Ian Wilson was nominated for a BAFTA Film Award for Best Sound in the film The Full Monty, 1998. He received the Golden Reel Award, Motion Pictures Sound Editors, USA for Best Sound Editing - Foreign Feature for The Borrowers, 1999, and has been Supervising Sound Editor on many other well known films in the UK and overseas.
